Working remotely has brought many challenges as well as silver linings to the way we now do business. We reached out to some of our valued customers to find out what they found challenging, and what tech they used to “fix” those challenges. Here are some key phrases we heard that made us have a bit of a laugh. Maybe you have said these yourself? To give you a helping hand, we have recommended some tech support to solve each challenge.
Where the heck are my staff?
Many businesses have staff working from home and it becomes difficult to schedule meetings when you don’t know where people will be. Whether it is a Teams meeting or a face to face. It’s not like they swung into the office first thing and chatted around the coffee machine about what they will be up to for the next day or week. This can be a great risk as life seems to change at a rapid pace, and if you need to run an emergency meeting, you need to know where your people are!
Solution: Create a shared office Calendar. This allows people to see easily where people are.
Where are we at with that job?
Work in progress can also be an uphill battle. It is likely due to the nature of remote work. Managers are going to have to spend more time following up on work in progress and ensuring that the specifics of the jobs are being adhered to. You can’t check on how someone is going by the casual walk up. Work in progress platforms are varied for every company. However, if you don’t have anything in place, but you do have Microsoft Teams you can always use what you have and create a WIP system using Channels and Planner. Each client gets a channel where you can securely upload their files, have a work in progress and task system through planner, and if you are even more game, invite the client to this channel for complete transparency on your jobs. If you need some support to set this up, you can always give us a ring on 06 7699907
